While we are in the dream, we cope with many aspects in the physical that can challenge us. Learning to see our bodies as a Holy Temple…as a Holy Home for the Holy Spirit, charges us with a responsibility to care for it.

This week Dan will be talking with us about Body, Mind and Spiritual balance, and multiple ways in which we can better care for ourselves.

I want to offer a reminder that our perspectives and beliefs can deeply influence the health and welfare of our being. The thoughts we hold about our bodies, how they look, feel, and perform…create the outcome for…how we look, feel and perform. Hold high your thoughts, know that Spirit is always present within, as well as without. Consider your body as a temporary ARK, an earthly vessel for safe-guarding that which is most precious…our deepest relationship with Holy Spirit…the covenant which guides us on our dream journey through our earthly experiences.
Take good care of your vessel, think well of it at all times, because in Truth, we are whole, healthy, joyful, loved, loving, and perfect!

What a fabulous state of being to live in… have fun in your body, delight in its ability, and every day give thanks for all that our body provides us! One day we will all shed the body, and will no longer need it. Its illusion will have served its purpose. We will experience the ultimate freedom and delight in a new state of formlessness, but in the meantime…be kind, careful and loving to the form you are now in!

I wish to extend a special MAHALO for all the prayers, good thoughts and support while I was out on a much needed rest-hiatus last week. The doc’s and I are still exploring a more definitive ‘diagnosis’ in order to create the right and perfect support to the bodily systems. AND, we all hold a vision of the TRUTH that in Reality…I AM healthy, whole, and held in Divine Love and Order.

I would like to acknowledge and express a HUGE, and heart-felt gratitude to ALL the Windward Unity “FOOD-Angels” who contributed and/or put together the fabulous salad and dessert-bar luncheon for the HULA meeting which we sponsored last Saturday in our Sanctuary. It was AMAZING and received many compliments…lots of “WOW’s” and “YUMMMMYYYY’S”… from the attendees. Barbara and Bree, you two are the dessert Queens, for sure!!

To Georgia and Tom Bopp, you both went above and beyond in support of this event….shopping, preparing, set-up, serving, clean-up, and much more…thank you very, very much!

Georgia, you were the perfect “Martha” hostess, whom we all appreciated for your gracious service, focused attention to detail, and generous giving of your time and organizational talents. You two are ‘Angels-Extraordinaire’ and we love and appreciate you so much.

I also extend deep gratitude and appreciation to the “FLOWER-Angels”…those who bought, cut, and gave from their yards, and especially to Norma and Barbara for the gorgeous flower arrangements, attention to detail, and the beauty you both created throughout the entire church. Our guests were quite complimentary about the look and feel of our sweet church space. My heart was filled with love and gratitude for all of you who made this space a beautiful ‘sacred spiritual home’ for all to enjoy.

I am looking forward to the upcoming spring! We have more events, workshops, classes, as well as additional opportunities for musical and artistic expressions of Spirit here at our “Spiritual Learning Center”.

I encourage all of you to ‘dip-in’ and take advantage of these events, not only for yourselves, but to also invite and engage your extended family and friends along with you. These are personal growth opportunities not only for our existing Spiritual Ohana, but also for our greater community.

As we give and share, so shall we receive and benefit in ways beyond our imagining. I thank God for the teachers, artists, musicians, poets, writers, and all others who offer their time and talents to us to help us fulfill our MIssion and Vision and create the ‘Magic’ here at Windward Unity’s Learning Center.

Last Sunday we met and even exceeded the $1600 Matching Fund Challenge!!!

Prayers of gratitude and appreciation, and a Great Big Mahalo to all of you who made this possible!!

We were able to meet rent, and other expenses. Kerry and Keoni, who held their paychecks for an extra week, were able to deposit them this week. Thank you all, and thank you, God as our Source and Supply!

Heading into this next week, we have a $-337.93 short fall for our projected expenses for the week. We know that we are provided for, and bless each of you who give lovingly and faithfully in support of Windward Unity.

As we are all benefactors of this giving, please join me in saying, “Thank You, Holy Spirit, as we experience abundance by holding Faith with the Truth of the Law of Giving and Receiving”.

We may like the color red for Valentine’s Day, however, we love the color black for our bottom-line, so we ask for your loving support to meet, AND BEAT, this challenge each week for the rest of the month!

This past Sunday, which was Hawaiian Music Sunday, we welcomed five new members into our Spiritual Ohana, and were blessed with the presence of Mihana’s beautiful voice and smile. Your Spiritual Leader even danced Hula to a sweet rendition of ‘Maile Lei”. Who da thot???

This week we are finding out about the Body Temple and will experience the “Full-Body Prayer”, as another way of blessing ‘Presence’ within us. Next week the YOU will be part of the service, sharing with us their Fall Rally experiences.

We have workshops, new classes, and other new events coming up over the next two months. Beginning Monday January 31st, the Windward Book Study group from Unity Church of Hawaii will share our space, and all are invited to join them. On February 2nd, LUT Candidate, Cynthia Mooney will teach a five week class on “The Five Unity Principles” using the book by Ellen Debenport. This is a great class for those new to Unity, or those who want to hear the latest teachings coming through the Unity movement. This is the new and exciting Windward Unity…a Spiritual Learning (and Experiencing) Center for the Windward side.

If you have not been here for a while, we invite you to come and check us out again. Growth and changes are occurring on all levels, from Spiritual Leadership, to new members, and a new board being elected this coming Sunday.

Claiming Faith – People make New Years resolutions by the score, claims Gail Dobert, as she reminds us that by spring we often run out of ‘resolution’ steam. Like Peter, who was weak in faith until Jesus taught him how to use and direct it, we too can generate spiritual Faith to regain our resolution for good in our life. Through prayer, and its partner, meditation, we tap into our best dreams and desire for our growth.

If our world grows winter gray, we will paint it Christmas bright. There will be wonder tales and delight in telling them. There will be generous desire to share our good with others.
There will be an urge to set a candle in the window, and in our minds, to watch it cast light across a fleeting darkness.

The Spirit of Christmas Is In The Air!

Men, women, and children everywhere are feeling a touch of Christmas spirit….Have you become receptive to it? It is broadcast from the hearts of those who have caught its message of life, love, peace, and joy….We hear it in the voices of people as they speak more kindly and joyously. There is a lilt to voices we hear as we pass along the streets, as if a heart song has been released.
“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
Galatians 5:22

I hope you enjoy these various thoughts about Christmas. I invite you to take these ideas into your heart, meditate upon them, and find where they support and uplift you during this holiday season.

CHRISTMAS PUNCH
2 pts cranberry juice, 2- 1 qt cans pineapple juice, 1 cup lemon juice, 3 cups sugar, 3 cups water, 2 qts ginger ale,
12 oz. pkg frozen strawberries. (optional: red food coloring)

Mix together all ingredients except ginger ale. Chill. Just before serving add ginger ale. Add frozen strawberries. Serves about 20. REFRESHING!!!

We got to experience what it would be like to attend a youth rally with songs, dances, meditation, fun and food. We divided up into ‘family’ groups where we explored the meanings of the 4G’s; Grace, Giving, Guidance, and Gratitude. These sessions were well lead,insightful, and bonding for all of us.

The lunch of fresh fruits, veggies, cheeses, salad-makings and more was absolutely delicious, nutritious and beautifully presented.

There were many comments about the spiritual maturity demonstrated by our YOU group. Their talent and creativity was obvious in the concept and design of the tee-shirts, which we all bought and wore all day.

For those of you who missed this one, we heartily encourage you to attend the next one. Yeah guys and girls, we want more!
YOU were fabulous and we bless YOU for the gift of our Rally and for sharing yourselves with us.
